The Pittsburgh Team is a dynamic group of diverse men and women from different backgrounds united in love and honor. At the core of our chapter is a dedicated team that pursues healing first in their own lives to be better equipped to facilitate love and healing to others. We all have a story, and many of us have found freedom at our own Deeper Still Retreat, and we are here to help you find your healing and freedom. Deeper Still Pittsburgh is honored to serve all our participants with the dignity they deserve. 

We are committed to building relationships and supporting our guests through prayer and continued communication as their “lifeline” in the months and weeks leading up to the retreat. It is our joy and privilege to come alongside our participants in their healing journey and witness God's transforming power in their lives.

Pam is a Pittsburgh native who moved to New York City after meeting her husband at Bible College. They married and raised their family in New York City for 30 years, serving in ministry, working in Corporate America, and gaining a vast love, knowledge, and experience of diverse cultures and faiths.

Several years after returning to Pittsburgh, Pam went through a Deeper Still Retreat where God revealed that He had much MORE healing than she thought possible. Through the years after her abortion, she had received layers of healing. She thought she was “healed,” she thought, “SHE DIDN’T NEED A RETREAT,” but God in His great mercy took her DEEPER and showed her how much MORE healing He had YET for her.

After her retreat, Pam received her voice to speak out and break the silence of shame and regret and the courage to become an advocate for LIFE.  In 2019, Pam said “YES” to God’s call to lead the Deeper Still Pittsburgh Chapter bringing to the table years of both ministry and corporate experience. It has been her heart to bring a deeper level of restoration to men and women, especially those who are sitting in silent shame within our churches and not finding a safe place to surrender their secret of a past abortion.

The Deeper Still Pittsburgh Chapter was first launched under the direction of Sheila Burke Howard in 2012 as a branch to the National Deeper Still Ministry in Knoxville, Tennessee. Sheila was a pioneer in pro-life ministry, who saw the pain and regret of those having abortions and longed to bring healing to their hurting hearts. Sheila serves on the National Deeper Still Board of Directors and continues to serve on the Pittsburgh Chapter.

In 2020, Deeper Still Pittsburgh was relaunched under the leadership of Pam Irizarry, who God called after attending her retreat in 2016. Pam has a passion for helping women and men set free from their abortion heartache. It is also her desire to bring an understanding to the Christian Community regarding the many women and men struggling within the Body of Christ with the shame and pain of a past abortion and needing a safe place for healing. 

Deeper Still Pittsburgh is a branch chapter of the National Deeper Still Ministry founded by Karen Ellison in Knoxville, Tennessee. Deeper Still has 30 Chapters across the US and in China and Taiwan.
